Glass Performance Days seeks volunteers!

25–28 JUNE 2019, TAMPERE

The Glass Performance Days (GPD) is a forum dedicated to the development of the global glass industry through education. This is done by organizing conferences in different countries — currently the conferences are organized in Finland, China and Brazil every two years. In Finland, GPD also organizes workshops and a glass exhibition.

A small group of joyful, capable volunteers are needed to make the next event in Tampere run smoothly.

The roles for volunteers are mostly about supporting GPD staff. No heavy workloads or responsibilities before the event — just some essential training so that everyone feels good and comfortable with what they have to do!

  • stage usher (taking microphone to audience for questions; guiding guests to empty seats; assisting speaker/tech crew/session chairs as needed; assisting guests as needed; etc)

  • speaker lounge assistant (helping speakers and GPD staff as needed; connecting with stage volunteers; etc)

  • registration desk (welcoming guests; handing out name badge + conference bag; supporting other staff; etc)

  • meeting room guide (assisting guests to set up meetings with Brella; sending reminders to meeting participants; ensuring that  booked meetings actually happen; etc)

  • roving response (available to support guests, organisers, volunteers and others as needed — wildcard role where anything could happen! Eg: covering volunteer shifts, running errands, guiding people, assisting lunch queue…)

  • bus attendant (welcoming guests onto bus; spreading good cheer and happy vibes; collecting guests from hotel lobby / breakfast rooms; etc)

  • registration desk for workshops (checking workshop registrations have been paid; handing out name badge + conference bag; guiding Glaston workshop participants to lunch/cafeteria)

  • bag stuffers (inserting materials to conference bags)

No particular experience is necessary, as relevant training will be provided. What we do ask for, is that you are keen to be there!
